Our story

I started Betty Ruth, Inc. because my mom spent most of her life working at a children’s hospital. Caring for others, especially kids, was not just her job. It was who she was. Because of that, starting this nonprofit did not feel like a hard decision. It felt like a natural one.

I wanted to carry forward the kind of message she lived every day: that life can be tough sometimes, but every child deserves a head start and someone in their corner. Betty Ruth, Inc. exists to make sure underserved youth have access to the technology, resources, and support they need to succeed in a digital world.

Rooted in family and community values, we work to close the digital divide by providing laptops, STEM learning experiences, and mentorship. Through hands on programs and exposure to role models, we help students build confidence, develop critical skills, and imagine futures in technology and STEM.

At Betty Ruth, Inc., we believe it takes a village to create opportunity. Together, we are helping youth thrive beyond the classroom.

What we believe

Youth have unlimited potential for growth.
Every young person is capable of learning, leading, and thriving when they are given encouragement, consistency, and the right support. We believe in meeting students where they are and helping them discover what they are truly capable of

Technology access is a pathway to opportunity.
In today’s world, access to a laptop and digital tools is not a luxury. It is a basic need. Technology opens doors to education, career pathways, creativity, and independence. When students have the tools, training, and support to use them, they gain real power over their future.

Exposure to STEM role models expands vision and confidence.
Representation matters. When youth see people who look like them succeeding in STEM and technology, it becomes easier to believe that they belong there too. We connect students to mentors and real world examples so they can imagine bigger possibilities, build confidence, and pursue goals that once felt out of reach.
